Michelle Chachkes, LCSW
Biography:
Michelle grew up in the NY area and moved to North Carolina 12 years ago.
Michelle attended Hunter College School of Social Work for her graduate studies
where she received both her Masters in Social Work and a Post Masters Degree in
Family Therapy. Over the past 17 years, Michelle has worked with adults and
children in a variety of settings including a private practice. Michelle integrates a
Cognitive-Behavioral and Mindfulness approach to help her clients with stress
management, anxiety, depression, grief, AD/HD, infertility, adoption issues,
parenting and marital conflict.
Michelle worked as a Parent Consultant/Educator through Project Enlightenment for
10 years providing consultation and workshops. Through NC Parent Consultants,
Michelle will be available to present workshops that support healthy family
communication patterns and reduce anger and stress. Michelle has been trained in
Conscious Discipline® , an approach to parenting and teaching that focuses on
establishing connection rituals and developing calming strategies in families to
prevent discipline problems.
Michelle is a mother to two boys who came into her life through the gift of adoption.
She has a passion for helping families through the adoption experience and
counseling the children through their emotional developmental stages as it relates
to the adoption.
Insurance:
Michelle accepts Medicaid, TriCare, Horizon and ComPsych EAPs and can work with
most BCBSNC Programs. Michelle will work with families who have other insurances
and can provide a sliding fee scale when necessary. Cash and checks are
accepted. Payment to be received at time of session.

For our mutual consideration please cancel preferably 24 hours ahead in order to
avoid a fee. Messages may be left at any time re: cancellations.
