Vickie Takei, RN, MSN, CCRNi
Vickie is a registered nurse that brings with her over 13 years of critical care
experience in the acute care setting to The Center. Her primary area of practice
was adult intensive care which has included medical and cardiac patient
populations. She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of New
Mexico in the clinical nurse specialist track. She was received Nurseweek’s award
for “Mentoring” which is a testament to her passion for teaching and learning.
Vickie has used her past experiences to create The Center’s “Patient Advocate
Program”. The program has been designed with three core tenets: health
organization, advanced health care directives and communication of information.
- First, to create and organize the health history of individuals to allow for
quick, comprehensive communication of pertinent health information in
emergency situations, for new physician appointments, traveling or
vacationing and other times when medical information may be needed to be
communicated quickly.
- Second, to create individual or family advanced health care directives.
Advanced health care directives communicate your wishes regarding you
medical care and assist family and loved ones in the very difficult process
deciding your care and honoring your wishes should you not be able to for
yourself.
- Third, family or patient conference. At the conference, we will take time to
review your health history and advanced directive wishes with yourself and
ANY other individuals you feel need to understand this information.
Vickie is a mother of three young girls and enjoys spending her time creating
memories with her family.
