The Stuff That Actually Matters

I love what I do.

It is an honor and a privilege to partner with my clients and walk with them on a path that creates change and allows them to be happy and healthy.  I have found the unique blending of Eastern Medicine with Functional Medicine that offers solutions to so many ailments that commonly fall through the cracks of conventional care.  For many, this approach has been the only approach that has worked for them at all.  While I can’t guarantee my methods will help everyone, all of the time, I can guarantee you that I will do my best to help you on your journey in every way that I know how.  I try to do this in a way that creates realistic, lasting and maintainable change.  Hopefully, we do all of this in a way that is also a little fun. Fun?  Yeah, why not?

We are the collective whole of a myriad of parts.  Every small part of who we are impacts who we are now and our current state of health.  What you eat, how you move, sleep, stressors and emotions, genetics, environment, medications and supplements, habits, hobbies, perceptions, the stories we tell ourselves, our future dreams and past traumas… are all parts of who we are.  All these parts influence every other part and ultimately, impacts who you are being and how you are feeling right now. It is only by understanding all of these parts that we are able to create significant and meaningful change. This is holistic medicine.  This is my approach to supporting clients in achieving and going beyond their goals.

The Real Me

The real me?  My initial thought to this question is… I am a father.  I am the dad to three amazing daughters (well, two are amazing, one is average…. Just kidding).  More than anything, I perceive my role in this life is to support these girls (young ladies) to become whom they came here to be.

There is nothing more I love than new adventures and experiences.  More specifically, adventures and experiences with my family.  I find the parameters of how we exist are dictated by the experiences we have had.  And so, I welcome all new experiences.  As a result, travel is a high priority for me and my family.

I try to live very intentionally.  Life is short and we get out of it, what we put into it.  A wise man once said, “A well-lived life doesn’t just happen, it is designed.” -Quinn Takei 😊.  I try to be intentional about designing a life in balance where I can be the best version of me and support others to be the best versions of them.

It has been said, if I had a superpower, that power would be the gift of listening. I suppose this superpower is a key factor in why I love my work, and why I experience clinical success with my clients.

I am a musician and occasionally, a part-time rock star.

I love authentic connections and relationships with friends, clients, and family.

I am an educator.  I am passionate about teaching and presenting to fellow professionals and the public on diverse health-related topics.  It is my goal to make my presentations engaging, practical, empowering and fun.

I am a writer… or trying to be… sort of.  I have several books in progress. Very slow progress… but still some progress.  One is a book on meditation, and the others are fictional. Between my clinic, and my other job as a chauffeur for my daughters and all their activities, I have not made writing a high priority.  This will shift when the time is right.

I am the chef of our house and I love to cook.  The food we eat is either our greatest medicine or our slowest poison.  Good food is a necessary part to good health.  I enjoy creating and serving healthy food.  I have learned, this is one of my strong “love languages”.  It has been suggested several times that I consider writing a cookbook.  Perhaps I’ll get to this, just as soon as all these other books in my head are completed… perhaps.

Oh yeah, I also like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain.  And long walks on the beach.  And world peace.
