Biography:

I was born and raised in North Carolina and received my undergraduate degree from East Carolina University in Organizational Communication with a focus on Marketing and Public Relations.  While working in advertising and marketing, I began to experience pain in the lower back and body aches paired with brain fog and chronic fatigue. I was later diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that ended up changing my life. Looking for an alternative to medications, I sought out a more holistic approach and took control of my health.  I began receiving massage therapy and acupuncture.

Due to the remarkable results that I received; I decided to pursue Chinese Medicine as a career. I attended National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois, where I completed my Masters of Science in Acupuncture degree.  As someone with an autoimmune disease that has suffered inflammation pain and fatigue for many years of my life, I have learned first-hand how much different holistic modalities, complemented with diet and nutrition, can really change someone’s life.

While in Chicago, I also received my certification in Cosmetic Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation. I wanted to offer an alternative to Botox and fillers, while helping with the anti-aging process.

During my time at National University of Health Sciences, I had the opportunity to complete an internship through the Jesse Brown VA treating veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and other combat related health issues.  I also completed specialized training at John C. Stroger Hospital of Cook County Illinois providing patients with acupuncture as an alternative to drugs and surgery.  I continued my education and passion of Chinese Medicine by receiving my Doctor of Acupuncture degree from Pacific College of Health and Sciences.  I chose that school for their integrated approach to medicine. It allows me more options when treating and caring for my patients.

I truly enjoy working with patients from all walks of life. I take each patient and develop an individual plan to help combat any issues that patient may have. I focus on whole health and finding the root cause instead of only treating symptoms. I not only focus on physical health and pain management, I also have years of experience treating mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

In my free time, you can most likely find me at a concert, singing karaoke, traveling, or spending time with my husband, Nick, our two fur-kiddos, Hercules and Pretty, and our family and friends
